This Chantilly, Virginia, client has a large family and needed more useable kitchen space. To achieve this we removed the wall separating the kitchen and dining rooms, which allowed for a very large island. This island had room for an extra prep sink, dishwasher, microwave, under-counter beverage cooler, trash pull-out, extra storage, and seating. Additionally, the newly remodeled kitchen featured a 42” Sub-Zero® refrigerator, double ovens, a six burner Wolf® cook top, and beautiful Kohler® under-mounted sink.

As for the dining room, we created a large 13’ opening between the existing dining and living rooms. The old “unused” living and dining rooms became the most used area of the home, with a large dining table where family and friends can gather for meals and to entertain guests. This kitchen remodel is a perfect example of how great design ideas and a spacious open floor plan can still feel traditional.
